Clinical Supervision

Clinical and Reflective Supervision is regarded as an essential part of every practitioner’s ongoing professional development. For some professions, such as psychology, supervision is mandatory to retain professional registration. Mandatory obligations aside, not only does effective supervision assist practitioners to improve and develop their clinical and therapeutic skills, it also serves a professional accountability purpose, thereby minimising the chances of harm to patients, clients and practitioners themselves.

I have been practicing as a registered clinical psychologist since 1998 and have been fortunate to have received excellent supervision ever since my training commenced. As a supervisor, I have been consulting with supervisees regarding their professional practice for the past 24 years. My supervision experience has included providing supervision to psychology students, clinical psychology registrars, endorsed clinical psychologists, as well as professionals from other disciplines (allied health, nursing, and medicine). In addition, I have provided group reflective supervision to practitioners working in mental health and general health settings.

My approach to supervision is grounded in relation-based practice.  This approach privileges the constructs of containment, support and psychological and emotional safety in order for supervisees to explore all aspects of their practice.

I hold registration as a Psychology Board of Australia (PBA) approved supervisor.

Types of supervision that I provide include:

  • Placement supervision, where negotiated with the relevant organisation/provider.

  • Supervision leading to PBA endorsement (Clinical).

  • General mental health practice and clinical supervision.

  • Reflective practice supervision.

  • Clinical group supervision.

  • Reflective group supervision

I am available to provide supervision to organisations (individual and group) by negotiated contract according to identified needs.

Supervision can be done either in -person at my practice rooms, or online via a telehealth platform.

Supervision fees:

  • Individual Supervision (Clinical & Reflective) is charged at $200 (excl GST) per 60 minute supervision session.

  • Group supervision and supervision for organisations are charged at negotiated fees.

All supervision fees incur GST and are a claimable professional tax expense.

Please contact me by email if you would like to register your interest in commencing supervision, or would like to enquire about establishing supervision for your organisation or team.
